Google Flu

A story that came out today from the New York Times has been a bit of a buzz.

I’m finding it so interesting how integrated Google has become in our world.  From productivity apps to maps to flu trend analysis, it’s amazing what our Internet searches are revealing.  It seems that they are getting up-to-date statistics from their own data stream.  Some may find it scary, but frankly, I love it!  What a world it is becoming for our children when information is nothing more than a “Google” away.  This is why the world of education is changing – information is so readily available and easily retrievable that there is no real reason to memorize it.  What we must teach them is how to manipulate it!
